Latest Information on Validations and Re-Validations
06-02-2010For 2009 U.S. Customs Border Protection performed hundreds of validations and revalidations, with revalidations representing over 65% of the total. It is important for C-TPAT Companies to know that their Supply Chain Security Specialist always submits a Validation or Re-Validation Report document after a validation or re-validation visit. A Validation report is electronically uploaded to the company’s C-TPAT Portal Account under the “Partner” link. Companies must respond to the report within 90 days. The company can read and respond to the electronic version of the report directly from their C-TPAT Portal account.
Additional C-TPAT Facts you should know:
- Passwords to access the portal will expire every 42 days.
- Validation Report must be responded and submitted within 90 days.
- Re-Validation: A notification letter will be sent by your SCSS at least 30 days in advance before the actual visit.
- Companies with Tier II C-TPAT status are revalidated every 2 years.
- Companies with Tier III C-TPAT status are revalidated every 4 years.
- Companies will generally receive their validation report within 60 days of the validation or re-validation visit.
